Location

We are located in the waterfront rooms at the Voyager Maritime Museum, on Princes Wharf, downtime Auckland. There is a location map www.maritimemuseum.co.nz 

Entry is through the Waterfront Cafe, and then turn right. Parking is available after 5pm ($8 for unlimited evening stay) at the City Council Downtown Carpark (two minute walk across overbridge to the Creative Hub) or free of charge after 6pm on surrounding streets. The Britomart Transport Centre is a three minutes walk away.

Terms and Conditions

Fee Payment

For the Fiction Course and Advanced Fiction Course, Credit card, Direct Bank Debit / Credit and Monthly Fee Payment options are available including direct payment by Internet banking into the account below. (We don't accept cheques.) For the Fiction Course, we offer the option of monthly interest-free payment over two years. For the Advanced Fiction Course, we offer the option of quarterly interest-free payment over the period of the course.

For the Travel Writing Course the Introduction To Creative Writing Course, and the Writing at the Digital Frontier Course please pay by Direct Credit or Internet banking no later than seven working days prior to course commencement into the account below. Payment of the fee secures your place on the course.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

Section 236A (1)(d) of the Education Act allows that any student that withdraws within the first eight days of a course (which is longer than three months in duration) will be eligible for a total refund of any fees paid, less an administration charge of $500 or 10% of the total course fees, whichever is the lesser. Students withdrawing after the first eight days of the course will not be eligible for any refund.  Students withdrawing before a course has started will be eligible for a total refund of any fees paid less an administration charge of $50.

Short Courses
Courses up to and including four weeks’ duration
Where the student withdraws from the course, and notifies the Creative Hub in writing, one working day or more prior to the course commencing, they will be eligible for a total refund of any fees paid, less an administration charge of $50.  Students withdrawing after this period will not be eligible for any refund.

Courses five weeks or more but less than three months’ duration

Where the student withdraws from the course, and notifies the Creative Hub in writing three working days or more prior to the course commencing, they will be eligible for a total refund of any fees paid, less an administration charge of $50. Students withdrawing after this period will not be eligible for any refund.

Payment of Accounts
Accounts for fees and expenses owing to the Creative Hub are required to be paid by the due date.  The Creative Hub reserves the right to withdraw services until outstanding accounts have been met.  End of semester academic records and readers reports may be held until students’ accounts are up to date.

Late Payments
The Creative Hub reserves the right to charge interest on any amount outstanding, at the due date, at 5% per annum calculated daily from the due date to the date of payment.

Replacement of Tutors

The Creative Hub reserves the right to replace an advertised tutor with another of equivalent expertise in the event of illness or unavailability. In the event of a cancelled class due to tutor illness or unavailability, an alternative class date will be set, or a refund given.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

The Creative Hub collects personal information when you register with The Creative Hub. The Creative Hub uses information for the following general purposes: to fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and send you The Creative Hub newsletter.

INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

The Creative Hub does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

  • We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with The Creative Hub under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help The Creative Hub communicate with you about offers from The Creative Hub and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
  • We respond to court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
  • We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of The Creative Hub's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
  • We transfer information about you if The Creative Hub is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, The Creative Hub will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

General

We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the The Creative Hub service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and The Creative Hub Newsletter, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. However, you can delete your The Creative Hub records by emailing us and requesting we do so at any time, so long as these records are not required to complete administration of your enrollment in any course.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with Privacy Act regulations to protect personal information about you.
