Withdrawal and Refund Policy

 

(Note: Masks are currently optional in our classroom courses.)

 

Introduction to Creative Writing Course (6 weeks) and our Three Day Fiction Schools

 

Where the client withdraws from the course, and notifies the Creative Hub by email one working day or more prior to the course start date, they will be eligible for a total refund of any fees. Students withdrawing after this period will not be eligible for any refund. Students enrolled on the Online version of these courses will not be eligible for a refund of fees once course modules have been sent out. A client who withdraws from the classroom course, or who is unable or unwilling to attend class for any reason, can transfer without additional charge to the online version of the course. 

In the event of classroom closure or restrictions due to Covid 19, the Creative Hub will transfer service to Zoom delivery, without this affecting our Withdrawal or Refund policy. 

 

Thirty Week Fiction / Memoir Course and Advanced Course

 

Students withdrawing before the course has started will be eligible for a total refund of any fees paid less an administration charge of $50. Students who withdraw within the first eight days of the classroom course, will be eligible for a total refund of fees paid, less an administration charge of $480. Students withdrawing after the first eight days (classroom course) or once they have been given access to the online module set (Online course) will be liable for their full course fee. A client who withdraws from the classroom course, or is unable or unwilling to attend class for any reason, may at the discretion of the Director of the Creative Hub, be transferred without additional charge to the Online version of the course. The Creative Hub has the right to decline enrolment on the Thirty Week Fiction / Memoir Course.

 

In the event of classroom closure due to Covid 19 restrictions, the Creative Hub reserves the right to transfer service to Zoom delivery, without this affecting our Withdrawal or Refund Policy.

 

Payment of Accounts, Attendance, Conduct and Completion of Course Work.


Accounts for fees and expenses owing to the Creative Hub are required to be paid by the due date (s). The Creative Hub reserves the right to withdraw services until outstanding accounts have been met. End of semester academic records and readers reports may be held until students’ accounts are up to date. The Creative Hub also reserves the right to suspend students from the Thirty Week Fiction / Memoir Course in the event of continued unsatisfactory attendance at class; and / or in the event of students failing to adequately complete course work; and / or persistent disruptive behaviour in class. This decision will be at the discretion of the Director of the Creative Hub, and will not affect the Withdrawal and Refund policy. Although many Hub graduates have published successfully, the Creative Hub cannot guarantee publication as a result of completion of one of our courses.

 

Late Payments

 

Where overdue client accounts are sent to a debt collection agency for recovery, The Creative Hub will also charge an additional fee to cover the expenses of such an agency.

 

Replacement of Tutors; Cancellation / Postponement of Classes; Rooms; Presentation of Material

 

The Creative Hub reserves the right to replace an advertised tutor with another of similar expertise in the event of illness or unavailability. In the event of a cancelled class due to tutor illness or unavailability, or any other reason, an alternative class date will be set. For both classroom and Online courses, The Creative Hub reserves the right to change rooms / venue / dates of classes at its discretion and to provide tuition via Zoom, SKYPE or other online or digital methods in the event of this being a more practical or appropriate presentation of course material. The decision on what constitutes ‘more practical or appropriate’ will be at the discretion of the Director of the Creative Hub.
